I'm Late, I'm Late, For a Very Important Date!

Three days and counting…. I’m not giving this the benefit of the
doubt. I’ve been down that road before, of getting all excited and then
2 days later your world slides back into normal with a bang. I think I’m
going to give this a solid week of no show before we call in the pink
line calvary…

Blah

So I have been at this for about 3 months now, and I know there are
people that wait years to get pregnant, but this is driving me nuts!

One More Day

So I haven’t posted in a while. My life turned into a tornado about a
week ago and I am just now getting things back in order… Don’ t you
just love it when EVERYTHING decides to go crazy at the same time?
Mainly I’ve just been really busy, but also this was the 2 week tourture
of waiting. Didn’ t figure ya’ll would want a coundown post everyday.
“LMP+15 days & counting”

I will tell you that I have taken 2 tests, and both have come back
negative. Now considering that I am supposed to start tomorrow, I know,
it was early. 1st one was taken the day my best friend buried her great
grandmother. She needed something to look forward to that day… even
though there was no possible way the test could read poitive (even if I
was pregnant). She needed it, and what else are best friends for? 2nd
onewas taken when I got home from my in-laws on Saturday. The night
before (Friday) I went to bed early because I almost passed out walking
into the house from our bonfire & the boys rediculous, but very
entertaining, game of horse.

My husband is more than likely more anxious than I am to find out. He
keeps rubing my belly like it’s Aladin’s magic lamp. I told him “That’s
not for good luck you know, I don’t think a Genie is going to come out
of there.” He said, “Nope, something MUCH better.”

“What are you looking at me for? You said I just have to lay there!” —My husband when I gave him the “don’t wear your self out, we have things to do tonight” look earlier today. Boys…

What to do when you have no umph to... well you know.
  • Me: I'm headed to the church to paint. Are you turning in early?
  • Hub: Yeah, I'm gonna study some then sleep. Is today one of our " days"?
  • Me: Yeah. I'm going to have to jump you when I get home, aren't I?
  • Hub: Yeah, probably. Is that sad?

So I haven’t posted in a while, but I’m sure you all were dying to know the details of this last week. Right?! (That was sarcasm by the way.) Time to get this Plan in action… if we don’t drown first. Got to love Spring in the South.

Well, maybe today will be my “official” first day. Yesterday did not
cooperate…

First Day of Pregnancy

Well… today is it. If all goes according to plan today will be the “official” first day of my pregnancy. I know - sounds weird since, if it happens at all, I won’t actually be pregnant for antoher 2 weeks. Got to love prego-math though… here’s hoping!

Who Needs a 3D Ultrasound When You've Got Nickelodeon → 3dpregnancy.parentsconnect.com

Enter the wide world of nickelodeon sponsored Parents Connect…
Surprisingly there is a REALLY good pregnancy calendar (along with loads
of other fun online stuff) you can view.

Not only does it use the biologically correct name for the baby at the
various stages of pregnancy (double-d) there are various and asunder
cute nicknames given to your developing baby throughout the articles.
You get a week by week weight, length and get this A 3-D image of what
your baby looks like at each stage. No red &blue specs handy? Don’t
worry you can view it as a 2-D or A rotatable 3D image too.

All the science and biology aside you also get real world yet
lighthearted descriptions of not only what’s going on in your uterus but
your head and the rest of your body as well.

For someone like me that likes to have all the facts ahead of time it’s
a great resource to look through.

Thanks to @double-d & @chiakaitlin for the follow! Thanks for the wishes
and luck to both of you on your journeys to motherhood :-)

Take a Leap

They say, “Having a baby changes everything”; what they should say is ” Deciding to have a baby changes everything”.

If you follow this blog very long, and I hope you do, Y’all will soon find out I am a planner. I MUST have a plan or else the world will surely screech to a halt. Well, today there was a lot of ( mental) screeching going on as I thought out the ripple effect of moving The Baby Plan up by four months - instead of May 2013, we are shooting for December 2012.

Work - instead of going on maternity leave during the summer when we will have interns on staff to help pick up workload, ill be gone during a time when we are most short staffed - over the holidays.

School - I was scheduled to finish my undergrad/ start my graduate degree this fall, again maternity leave in the summer (no classes) , now, ill most likely be in the middle of finals during the biggest trial of my life - labor.

Baby - and of course the fact that babies, the making, growing & coming, follow their own plan - and very rarely I’ve seen do they let you in on it ahead of time…

“Okay, I’m nervous /excited again… I mean in three weeks our plan could be reality, not just a plan. I am so proud of you, and you are going to be great at this, but I’m not so sure I’m.cut out for this. I’m not ” warm & fuzzy” and I have no patience. I’m pretty sure both of those things are prerequisites for motherhood…” —No. 5 in the bazzillion emails sent back and forth between me and The Husband today

WHAT IS YOUR EARLIEST HUMAN MEMORY?

Ok I am answering ” tumblr bot” because it kind of goes with my whole blog… ive often wondered if babies have memories, or what they dream about - even though they say most people start long term memory retention between two and three years. SO, my earliest memory, which has been verified by relatives as me being VERY young, and that can’t be accounted for by me seeing a home video is….. *drumroll* Swinging in a baby swing on my grandmother’s back porch.

And We're Off...

After our initial pre-pregnancy checkup, my doctor suggested that we skip the 3 month “waiting period” after going off my hormonal birthcontrol. The goal - catch that first, forced ovulation and start next month off with a bang. Literally. In six days I will silence the alarm on my phone that has gone off every night at 9pm for the last SIX YEARS and hope for the best. Honestly I’m scared to death.
